Nick represents privately held companies and individuals in high-stakes litigation. He tries cases and arbitrates matters involving fiduciary claims, shareholder actions, contract disputes, fraud, tortious interference, conspiracy, defamation, misappropriation and government contracts.
Nick also represents Northern Virginia owners, developers and builders in zoning and land use disputes. His clients engage him when they face contentious matters before legislative bodies, planning commissions, zoning appeal boards and trial and appellate courts.
Nick protects his clients’ property rights from government overreach in matters involving zoning ordinance amendments, zoning determinations, vested rights, special exception permits, rezonings, plan disapprovals, proffers, regulatory takings and inverse condemnation, unconstitutional conditions, piecemeal downzonings and zoning permits.
Previously, Nick was a litigation partner in the Global Commercial Disputes group of Reed Smith LLP, an international law firm. He is married, has two daughters and lives in Purcellville, Virginia.
Nick attended Washington and Lee University School of Law and Appalachian State University. He is admitted to the Virginia State Bar and practices in Virginia’s state and federal courts.
